The End of Net Neutrality (At Least for Now)

If you make your living via the internet (and who doesn’t in some fashion these days) net neutrality is a topic that you can’t afford to ignore.

Yesterday morning the FCC published the “Restoring Internet Freedom” rule which largely ends the 2015 Net Neutrality rules. Net neutrality is over – at least for the time being. As Devin Coldeway over at TechCrunch tells it:

The order, published Thursday morning, may sound like the end of the line, but in fact this is the green light for everyone in the country, from citizens to attorney generals to governors and senators, to begin the official battle against the FCC’s ill-advised, technically backwards, and deeply unpopular rule.

Why is this the “green light” so to speak? Until the rule was officially published, no legal action could take place. Everyone opposed to the rule has been waiting for publication to start the offensive measures that have been in the planning stages since the FCC vote took place in December. Read what those actions may be here.
